Hi! I have a cute little boy who's one. You may think I'm lucky, and actually I am. I started teaching him "Mama" and "Papa" a month ago, and it's really fun! But now I have a big problem: When I teach him ABCs, he can't remember any of them. Time is running out and we're ready for nursery. Can anyone tell me the ways of teaching ABCs? Thanks!

Regardless of this being a troll or an actual person, the point is that a child of age 1 can not be expected to learn things like the ABC's like she is wanting the child to learn them. The child is 1!! Too young to be learning in this fashion. Do not push your child to do things they can not yet comprehend or even have an interest in. He should have been making sounds akin to mama and papa or dada a few months ago. YOU need not push this child beyone what they can do!

Good pick up Jodi. I haven't seen any of the other posts and didn't check the profile.

Doris, why do you keep changing the ages of your children? In another post you said your children are 11, 6 and 3. In your profile, you say your three children are 13, 6 and 3 months. Now you have a one year old? Honestly, if you want to troll a board, you at least need to be consistent with your story.

Who the heck expects a 1 year old to remember ABCs anyway? If you have older children, however, you would already know that expecting a 1 year old to learn their alphabet is asinine.

Far out, he's only 1. He doesn't need to know his alphabet yet.
Let him be a child and don't force him to learn everything now. He will learn when he's ready. It's not to say you can't say the alphabet in everyday life but there is no way he's going to recite it at his age.

Why should a 1yr old know the alphabet? That doesnt make sense..he is still way to young.
