my son constantly screams

My son is almost 17mths old & he constantly screams! He does it when he can't do somethin, he does it when he can't get his own way & he does it when he wants somethin, (usually pointing at what he wants!) He cant talk yet tho occasionally says the odd word! Can any1 offer any advice plz as my ears & head can't take much more!!!!

Ignore him. He's manipulating you, and you are responding.

Each time, calmly tell him "Use your words, I will not respond to screaming", and don't respond. If he's throwing a fit, let him, ignore him (unless in public, then put a stop to it immediately, because public fits are annoying to others).

Teach him that you will not respond to demands, you will respond to requests.
