I just want to help every parent that has a child with aortic stenosis. My son Chase died 6 months ago. He had a massive heart attack while surfing in California he just turned 19.We knew Chase had this condition since birth. The doctors said it was a mild case and that they would watch it closely , every 10 to 12 months he would have his check up everything looked the same no surprises . His doctor told us that he would have signs if his heart was getting in trouble. They said he shouldn't play contact sports during High School and he didn't.. There were no signs. Chase was a big boy. 6'2 weigh around 230. After graduating HS he left home to live with his older brother and go to school in California At the point he really stared to live life, he was mountain biking , surfing , eating really well had lost 30 or more pounds he said he felt better than ever befor. He came home for a vistit just three weeks befor he died. He looked great.
He was to have he next check up in two months. Chase did not make it. He was surfing on a beautiful August night in Oceanside California and had a massive heart attack and died. Needless to say these last six months have been a living hell. I just got up enough straight to visited where it happened two days ago. I just wanted to reach out to other parents that death can really happen from this terrible disease .
