But that is not what you need to do. You need to set up consequences for his actions or what he is not doing. You need to talk to his teachers and see if they have noted any changes in his behavior and what they can do to help you get him back on track. Hanging out at a park with friends or drawing are not going to help him. He needs structure and boundaries.

I try to hang out at the parks hoping he would meet some friends I encourage him to draw he is good at that

I agree that reaching out to the teachers to make a plan to get him back on track in school is a good idea. Sometimes kids fall behind and become overwhelmed at the prospect of catching up, so they don't try.
As far as his behavior; start taking away the things he likes as the other post suggested. Teens love their phone, tablets and computers. Keep taking things away and don't give them back until he has proven he deserves them back.

Can Dad help? I will take away some privilegefrom him, like his phone, TV etc. Be consistent with him. Also find out why he is getting low grades in school. talk to his teachers. maybe he needs some tutoring. 13 it is hard age but you still have time to change things around.before is too late. good luck!

When he is not in school and he is not doing chores or homework... what is he doing?
