My son has distal hypospadias and I'm worried about surgery and how it will affect him later, any advice?

My son was born with a distal hypospadias and at three months developed another opening right above the first. His doctor said he will need surgery, and it will more than likely be in march when he is 10 months old. I'm freaking out a little. I keep going back and forth on whether or not to get it. I'm scared about what the scarring will be like as he grows and if it will affect his sexual health. I have read that the scarring can hurt when they are sexually active and he will have less sensitivity as a result of the scar tissue. I know none of us want to think about our little babies someday being sexually active but it's important to make sure it's normal. So if any of you have been throught his and have any advice or suggestions i would appreciate it SO MUCH. I've read past posts and have learned some things, but i didn't see any that talked about what the appearance was like years after the surgery. Thanks mamas :)

My son was born with mild hypospadias and had surgery at 3 years old. Surgery was recommended as it's really would not be ideal for him to go through life peeing out of the side of his penis. As far as desensitising the area goes, we were assured it wouldn't be any worse than if he had been circumcised.

There is no visible scarring, and he experiences no problems with it at all, although he is still pre-puberty.
