My son has had a nasty cough for few days! Today he woke up with 39degree temp and very sooky and very sleepy! Put it down to new tooth that cut through but doesn't seem right?? Compared to other teething times. Should I go to hospital? He's had a temp all day and does go down with panadol!

Take him in. Teething does not cause a 39 degree temperature. Usually higher temperatures like that are bacterial infections (viral tends to be a lower temp, and teething not even a fever, but slightly red cheeks and warm to touch). Keep giving him Tylenol for his fever and comfort, but have him checked out to be on the safe side.

How high is that? If it is over 103.1 and not coming down then take him. Have you tried alternating with motrin and tylenol? That seems to do a better job of keeping the fever down.

Yes definately. Just to be safe. Having a temp like that can lead to convulsions. I'm not trying to worry you but it's better to take him and find out it's nothing bad then to not.
