My son has severe tics any recommendations on how to control it?

My son started with his tics around 5, but we didn't know what it was. For example it he would constantly clear his throat. Then around 6 months later he started with the head jerking. I took him to the neurologist and was told he will probably grow out of it, if it has not been going on for a straight year. Now that he no longer jerks his head but for months he has been constantly blinking with the grimacing and rolling eyes. Just recently he does this very loud screeching, which drives me crazy. Now that he's 9yrs old he has become fully aware that something is wrong and his friends now question him why is he making the noise or blinking with the constant grimacing. My poor baby gets really depressed and says "mom I hate my tics" which breaks my heart. Do any of you moms have any suggestions on how I can help my baby?

Go see your pediatrician again with your concerns and ask for a referral to a difference neurologist. Sorry this is happening to your son.
