I'm at my wits end, I don't know what else to try, The doctors all say "he'll out grow it" , His dad did it til he was 13, His Sisters' two daughters did it til they were teens, I know at least 1 had a issue, some extra skin growing on her bladder and making an "ear" on it, I am not sure if the other one did have any health problem.

My son started wetting the bed at about 7/8 yrs old, it started out only once in a while, then he'd do it nightly, then he stopped for a few months, then started again, For the last 2 yrs it's pretty much been every single night, He's ruined 1 mattress, Even with a cover on it!, He's on his 2nd mattress and probably 10th cover( you can only wash them so much before they fall apart- they're not the vinyl kind either!), When my daughter was younger she never wet the bed, But during potty training she out grew the Pull ups for potty training, so I used Over nights- which I knew worked excellent, since that is what their aunt used on her girls.

when my son first started wetting the bed I used them and they were excellent, Never once did he pee through them no wet blankets/sheets/ bed etc. the only time they did not work is on the 4th or 5th night of wearing the same one in a row, If he didn't pee in them, He'd wear the same one the next night, then when he stopped for months and started back up I went to buy more and couldn't find them so I had to use the Brand Good Nights, and these things are terrible! I might as well just let him go to bed in his normal undies, he soaks all the way through them, I've done everything from cutting his liquid intake to 6pm - his bed time is 9pm - I've cut his liquids back further for about 2 months I didn't allow him to drink anything after 5pm - Only thing that did is made one thirsty child, he still wet the bed, He pee's every night before bed, And I make him stay a few mins longer just to make sure he's all the way done, Also his alarm is made so you can set it at 2 different times,

The 1st time is his "Wake up" call to get up and go pee at Midnight, usually I have to go wake him up he's a VERY deep sleeper he'll have a full conversation with me or even on occasions fight with me, when I finally get him in the bathroom, he keeps trying to come out before he's done, So I try to get him to fully wake up and go pee, then he starts getting mad at holding the crying back and when I ask him what's wrong it's always" I have to pee" then I tell him well silly goose your standing in the bathroom go use the commode. His bed time is 9pm Sunday Through Thursday, but on Friday and Saturday it's midnight. Monday through Friday he's up at 6:30 am (except during the summer, then he's up at 8) weekends or no school days during a school year he's up by 8:30- 9 Am.

I have noticed a lot of times when he pee's the bed it's when he starts talking in his sleep. I've asked him why he pee's the bed he said he doesn't know but it does seem to always happen when he dreams of water, So being funny (trying not to make a already embarrassing problem more embarrassing) I told him well stop dreaming of water. Which did make him laugh- I try my best not to get mad, but it is really hard when its nightly and I have to wash blankets all day every day. I know he doesn't do it on purpose and he can't help it, and he'll out grow it . But this week I decided to stop wasting my money on Good nights and Try Depends for men, Tight fit - Figured they're for adults so they'd be made better, and made to hold more "liquid" And since I was paying the same exact price for them as I was for the Good nights only getting about 11 more for the same price, I decided to give it a try, What could it really hurt.

Much to my disappointment They don't work! I bought them last night and Last night he woke up soaked, Tonight he woke up soaked I've looked into washable/reusable sleep pants, that look identical to boxer briefs only have a absorbing pad inside them , but after reading the reviews, I don't think they'd help him either, they seem to be for Light liquid - like men with very light peeing problems. not ones who fully pee in their sleep. And I think the worst part is Most kids who pee the bed wake up after peeing the bed, My son doesn't he has no clue he'll wake up go pee and get back in bed SOAKED if I don't stand there the entire time and tell him he pee'd the bed.

I am sorry for rambling, but like I said above I'm at my wits end, I have actually tried EVERYTHING, except meds since every doctor he's been to just says "He'll out grow it" . I just know he's as fed up with it as I am, I don't make much of a deal out of it when he does it, other than maybe a sigh and " you pee'd the bed again"

I guess my main question is does any one know of ANY underpants That actually work? that he won't soak through, since Depends was a total bust!

He already cleans up the mess and does his laundry, I do it on occasion, but for the most part he does it, and has for the last few years. I'll talk to the doctor again, Or maybe have him Bring it up himself, Maybe they'll listen if he brings it up instead of me.

I'm surprised the doctor won't give him meds to try by now. It may or may not help, but is certainly worth a try. I would flat out TELL the doctor that he wants to try meds (if he does) and to write him a prescription. He's certainly old enough that it would be a reasonable request.

I'd also make your son responsible for doing his laundry. It's an accident, but accidents still need to be cleaned up and he's certainly old enough for that responsibility. It might take some of the frustration off of YOU, at least.
