Maybe he needs to go inpatient in a hospital if the police and his therapists aren't reaching him?

I would involve the police if the therapists are not offering any ways to get this under control. He may have issues, but he NEEDS to know that violence is flat out unacceptable... and if he isn't capable of learning that... he needs to be somewhere that is trained to deal with it.

You would not have to press charges on him, but maybe explaining the situation to the officers and have them sit down with him and tell him exactly what could be in store for him if he doesn't stop attacking you.

He does need help, but YOU also need to be safe.... as does anyone else he may come in contact with and think that violence is an acceptable way to handle life.
