ya it is really bad for his teeth to let him go to bed with it. I would let him have it right before he goes to bed, brush his teeth and then off to bed. You could give him a sippy with water for bed and that wouldn't be a problem.

I do sink sometimes.. my parents never brushed my teeth until I had all my teeth and to this day I am 22 years old with 0 cavities! .. but for me I do go the extra mile and brush his teeth once a day.. but from time to time i sink and give him a sippy cup of milk in the middle of the night if he wakes.. I do want to try to stop it though....

Thank you for your response! I was not putting him to bed with it for the longest time, but then he started teething and cut 2 teeth at once, and I was desperate for some sleep so I put him to bed with his milk and if he would wake in the night.. I have filled it for him a few times.. Now he wakes up at 4:30AM-5:30AM for milk.. and sometimes he cries a bit through the night.. but it is not as bad no more cause his teeth have cut through. But tonight, I did put him to bed with a sippy cup of milk...I guess I should maybe let him cry it out...???????
