my son is 4 and I was told today that his iron level was 5 what does this mean

We went through this with my daughter, there are iron fortified cereals just check the labels. Spinach is high in iron, egg whites, and beans. When feeding foods high in iron feed them with foods that are high in vitamin C it helps the body absorb the iron. Below is the website for the red cross that lists a whole bunch of foods you can feed in place of red meat that are high in iron.

red meat is good... have you ever tried making beef soup or roast beef sandwiches? make him a hotdog with all beef franks...

thanks a mil holly ... the only think that i can not get him to eat is red meat other than that he would eat the hands of a clock and i know the big source is in red meat i his favourite dinner is (green & orange dinner) as he calls it which is potatoes brocali sprouts and carrotts or just spinach and potatoes he would have this 5 out of the 7 days the other days is spag bol that is his other favourite and suggestions how i can get red meat into his green & orange dinner

its low... you should get your child to eat more iron rich foods, when my daughter's iron came back low, they told me she needs to eat more whole grains, such as whole grain bread and pasta. I like the Ezekiel 4:9 bread
