My son is a 3 and half year old and extremely strong will, any suggestions on how to get him to listen more?

Thank you so much! Yes, I know I have not been consistent with him. I did notice time outs are the most effective way to discpline him. Thank you again for your post, feels good to know im not that the only one going thru this. :)

Whatever you do, BE CONSISTENT! Also, don't threaten to do something unless you really mean to follow through on it. Do not give in to whining or tantrums. This just proves to your child that his bad behavior will be rewarded, and he will continue to do it. I also have a very strong willed child and have found that consistency is the most important thing. If he gets away with something even one time, he will try to get away with it again, over and over! Personally, I have found that time outs are quite effective with my son. However, I have to place a chair in the middle of the room (so that he can't get to anything while he's sitting there) and make sure he sits on it. If I just tell him to sit on the floor or anything, I can just forget about him doing it. Not going to happen. Good luck! I know it can be hard to stay patient, but you can do it!
