My son is a really fussy eater, and only snacks during the day. Today, his grandfather and I had noticed that he hasnt really grown since March, when we last measured him. Should I be concerned? I'm about 5'4 and his daddy is 6'4 or so.. I was always on the shorter side of the growth chart, and his dad was 5'7 until 17, when he grew. I'm just nervous something could be wrong... :(

So he's gained weight but you just don't think he's any taller? Usually kids put on the lbs, and then shoot up in height. I also wouldn't worry too much as it's only been 5 months, kids growth slows after the first year and a half. If you are truly concerned then schedule a visit with your doctor but I would give it a few months before I would start panicking.

My girls are both slow growers staying about the same height and weight for about 2yrs at a time (sometimes more LOL my 2nd grader still wares her kinder cloths for play cloths bc they still fit fine just look worn out) This started for both of them around 2 I think although my oldest was wearing 12 month cloths at 2 ys... Any way their docs were never worried and while the projected height of my oldest 2 yrs ago was 4'9 - 5'1 she has since then (and getting on meds for her asthma) she has shot up 6 inch about 3 inch a year. So who knows how big or little she will be after all is said and done. Most likely he is just going to grow at his own rate don't worry and about 1-2 is when they should slow down anyway the first year they grow a lot then slow down and start having spurts (some just keep growing at a steady rate).

If the Doctor's aren't worried about it, then I wouldn't be. He's eating and drinking, so I see no need to worry.

MY daughter plateaued around 2 for height, she started chunking up, then took a massive growth spurt.

I agree with Amy.
If you are worried, talk to his doctor and perhaps a nutritionist. You say he snacks during the day- on what? My kids eat smallish meals, I call them snacks, but they are all main foods, not snacks like you or I would eat. They eat scrambled eggs, wheat pasta and sauce, cheese, oatmeal, fruits, milk 'shakes' (banana and whole milk and ice) etc.... but at odd hours and portions. If he's eating 'snacks' like chips, crackers, cookies, etc and he's not growing, I would just switch up your food groups.

How old is he? And when you say he hasn't grown do you mean he hasn't gained any weight, height or both?
