I'm trying to get my son to crawl. He is five months and he still dose not crawl. I try laying him on the floor on his belly so that he can learn but as soon as I put him down he starts crying. I even put some toys in front of him on the floor so that he can see them and try to crawl up to them but thats not working. My son doesn't seem too happy. He has an older sister who walks and he watches her and wants to look up to his sister and be able to be more moble so that he can play with her more. I need some advice how can I help my son learn how to crawl?

He is only five months old. You are expecting way too much for him at this age. He will do that when he is ready. Most five month olds do not crawl at all, but they do lay on tummy to play. That is what you need to do.

My daughter didnt crawl until 9 months old. She also didn't walk until 14 months . Her speech is very excelled for her age and always has been. It seems babies develop in different areas faster in some and slower in others. 5 months is still pretty early for any baby to crawl in my opinion and some never crawl but go straight to walking. As long as your lo is hitting other developmental milestones on time then I wouldn't be concerned at all. Still give him lots of tummy time if he tolerates it ( my daughter HATED tummy time and I didn't stress her out by forcing her , and held her a ton to prevent a flat spot on her head), but don't put too much pressure on him or you to get him to crawl.

Leave him be, he will crawl when he's ready! My daughter never crawled till the day before she started walking, at 14 months old. Relax you have plenty of time......
