My 3 year old has been constipated. Prune juice, water, and fuits and veggies but nothing has been helping. he hasnt pooped in over 5 days and its worried. I asked a pharmacist what to do and he suggested a glycerin suppository. I used one and my son just keeps pushing it out. i will even hold him there laying on his stomach but he still will push it right out.. What can i do to keep him from pushing it out ?

For the record, if you've pushed it in as far as it can possibly go without disappearing into a lump of dooh (use your middle finger), or if it's been sucked in by the rectal muscles - then you won't have any problem with the kid expelling it, so long as you've held your finger over their butt for about five minutes.

Hold his butt cheeks together for about a minute. A pharmacist told me to do that when I had to give my daughter a suppository when she had the stomach virus.
