I understand you want ur son to watch kiddie show. but at his age if he loves music. I would go with it. That's how my kids started out. And now my 15 yr old sings and plays the guitar. My 10 yr old sings. And my 13 yr old sings. Music is great for kids. Try him on kiddie shows that have music.

You don't need to swap one program for another, but you do need to turn the TV off. at 36 months, he really shouldn't be in a room with a TV on for more than an hour or so a day, and some experts even argue that is too much TV. "Kiddie programming" is WAY overrated anyway--it is not actually educational, kids won't learn from it at all--it MIGHT reinforce concepts you teach him, but even that benefit has proven limited in structured studies--and it disrupts normal brain development. Opt for music and self directed play instead.

The music is wonderful for him (I assume, I've never heard of Westlife, but most music is good for brain development), so just continue letting him listen to the album. If you are the type of person that likes "background" noise in your home, always choose music over letting a TV play endlessly.

So agrees with Michelle. Why are you allowing a 3 yr old to rule the house?! You are the parent you make the rules.

You are the parent so be one and turn the TV OFF!!! Don't just switch one show for another, engage him in other activities. Get outside and show him that there is a world beyond the TV.
