My son's friend damages more then just toys

My son is five and has a friend that is 4. Whenever this kid comes over to play something is broken. This past week one of my flat screen TVs was broken. This friend is a very bad influence...he does not follow directions from me and my husband nor his father and the father's girlfriend. Basic rules for indoor play like no running are completely ignored by the parent and the kid. When we attempt to redirect his behavior he stares blankly at us and continues to brake my sons toys. His father usually will not redirect his behavior at all. After a play date with this child my son's behavior is totally off the wall for several days..what should we do?

My suggestion would be to do play dates outside your home. Meet at a park or some other kid friendly place. Keep the play date short....1 hour or so. If you have troubles with this child listening to you I would have the child's parent at the play date. The child may not listen to that parent or that parent may not discipline, but this then leaves you not responsible for that child.

Stop having playdates with him. Or if you do, have his mother there. Also, a better idea, meet them at the park and stop having him over at all. I would not tolerate this either.
