my son will be 4 mths old on the 10th of november and i thought tummy time included him being on my belly until his doctor told me otherwise so i'm just now doing it and he hates it he does not mind sleeping on his belly but when awake he hates it so i'm not inforcing it to much i don't know if that bad or not but i hate to see him scream and cry because of me he has great neck muscles surprises alot of ppl and tries to sit up on his own even while we are riding down the road when i look back he has his neck sticking out trying to sit up further lol but yet he still can not lift his chest with his arms and when on a flat surface it seems harder for him to hold up his head as high or mabey he is just crying so much that he soes not want to but neck control is his masterpeice in my arms and when i am helping him sit up do i have a problem on my hands he still has not rolled over or held his chest up????

When my kids were little I was told that tummy time on their fathers chest counted. Mens chests are firmer so its better for them to do it dad rather than mum.

I also had to do tummy time with them lying on my belly. Both my kids hated it. Sometimes doctors don't know best, and often they do. You have to do what is best for you and your child.

Lots of babies don't like tummy time. They have to work hard, but it is good for them in small doses because it strengthens their muscles. Keep giving your son tummy time for short periods and he will soon get used to it and will become strong enough roll over.
