My son just turned 1 and I am trying to wean him from breastfeeding, to breast milk in his sippy cup (so he can still have the benefits, but not need me to get them)...he wants no part of it. I've tried a sippy cup, a cup with no lid, gave it to him fresh, cold, and reheated :/ He drinks water out of his cup, but nothing else. He still thoroughly enjoys breastfeeding, but due to necessity, I have to get back to work now. I've cut down his nursings to am nap and bedtime. He still nurses at night too if he wakes (were working on that, prob will be the last feedings to go) He also eats table food with no problem & has an excellent appetite. Any & all help will be appreciated, thank you!!

If you don't want to wean yet you can always have him take solids and water while you are gone and nurse when you are together. I hear many women go this route. As long as he is nursing 4 times/24 hours he doesn't need any other milk.

Thank you! I knew something was different once it was pumped out. Everybody was calling me crazy lol It seems to have a different smell and everything, I think I will have to submit and give that a shot. I wanted to wait a little longer for cows milk, but since he's being so resistant, that might be the only solution. Thanks again!

I would transition him to cows milk for the am nap and leave the breastfeeding to just in the evening. The breast milk doesn't taste the same coming out of you as it does coming out of the cup so he isn't interested so maybe just regular milk would be the solution to you going back to work.
