My daughter (only child) is 6 and she's still a big brat, who tries to chuck a hissy fit when she is told no. I try different things - whatever works, is the best thing at the time. Depending on what it is, you just have to keeping trying until you find something that works. At about 3yrs of age, I thought that she may have a mild case of ADHD. Professionals told me "you can't really tell until they've reached school. If they are more active than the other children, then it's most likely". Her father is ADHD and I have a lot of cousins who have it also, it's possible. So, if your grandchild has any problems, you'd be able to tell after watching him with other children. And with the "no" situation, it's all trial and error. It sounds like you are doing a great job as a mother and grandmother, I commend you on the strengths you have with your family.

How about not calling your grandson a brat? That is good advice to start with.
