My sweet 6 year old daughter has the speech of a two year old, other than phrases she copies from videos or my husband and me.

The assessment she has had through her pediatrition and subsequent speech therspist ruled out autism, but she isn't improving a year later. It's as though she stopped progression in communication between 2 and 3 years old, at which time she was on schedule...(actually closer to two). She can mimic things she hears on videos, but rarely strings words together to form sentences on her
own. She's SO sweet and kind hearted. If she thinks
someone is sad, she will, without fail, go to them,
hug them, stroke their face, and say, "Don't cry...
No...Don't cry." Of course, this is said in "baby talk",
with the pronunciation off, ie. "r" sound is "w", and "t" at the end of the word "don't" is left off all
together.
A neurological exam is scheduled for tomorrow, and to be frank, I don't even know exactly what types of things they are looking for! I only know that we need answers. We want the best life for our kittle sweetheart of a girl.
If anyone here can help me at all with knowledge or experience of their own, I would welcome your input.
Thanks so much!
