My toddler won't talk at all

My son is 10 and still does not talk to anyone but my daughter, husband and myself and it is very limited. He is Autistic and has many ways of communication. I just want to encourage you to find other ways of communication with your child until they catch up, you will be surprised how much they will do when they realize they can communicate with you. My son will sing whole songs but doesn't seem interested in talking much at all so we started with sign language and that worked until he attended school with a little girl who could not hear and then he wouldn't use it , guess he thought he shouldn't since he could hear. But he will show me what he wants so its no big deal. Any way I just wanted to encourage you, definitely ask for a speech evaluation from the doctor. Good Luck.

2 years and 3 months should be talking in short phrases. If you live in the US contact your Early Interventions Program and request an evaluation of speech and hearing. If you live outside the US, contact your pediatrician for advice on hearing and speech.
