My two year old drinks a lot

Hi Moms
I am a bit concerned in the amount my daughter drinks, it is bottle after bottle and there is no saying no she will cry and throw a tantrum until she gets her bottle, with her drinking so much I have been going through a lot of nappies and she then also doesn't really want to eat much as she is full with fluids, what should I do and is it something to be considered about?
I would appreciate any feedback

I agree with the others. Get her off the bottle. Then only offer water between meals. When she wants a drink have her sit at the table to drink it. If she is really thirsty she will sit. When you serve a meal offer milk after she has eaten her food. Having a bottle to carry around all day is habit. You will usually find that the amount of liquid goes down when you switch from bottle to sippy, only allow drinks at the table, and offer milk after food. If she is still drinking a lot after that then talk to your doc to make sure there is no medical reason (diabetes).

I have to agree with Dove and you are going to be saying "no" a lot as she grows up. You can not give in to her and keep allowing her to have her way or what she wants all the time. Get ready for a few tantrums, fits, or whining over the years because that is how kids push boundaries and test you. You need to set some rules for her to follow and have consequences for them and continue to add the rules as she gets older that she will need to learn how to live by in your home.

Switch her from bottle to sippy cup and only allow water throughout the day other than having milk at mealtimes.

If she still seems to be drinking too much... talk to the doctor. It could be perfectly normal, but excessive thirst is a sign of diabetes. It's always better for peace of mind if you can rule out an actual problem.
