6 days ago, my water broke. I was 22 weeks and 6 days. I thought for sure I was delivering my little girl and would have to plan a funeral. I went to my local hospital where they confirmed it was my amniotic fluid. They did an ultrasound and determined I had around 8. Normal is between 10 and 25. My cervix was closed and I didn't have any contractions.
They sent me home.
I couldn't believe it! They sent me home and basically told me to lay in bed and not get up for anything, except to eat, pee and shower. They would not be doing anything to help my baby until and if I made it to 23w and 5d. The LONGEST 6 days of my life, and I tell you, I didn't do a damn thing, I have a 7 month at home. My Husband got to see what I have to do all day everyday!!
So I am now in the hospital on bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy. Today is day one. They started me on steroids, antibiotics and continued my Pestosterone shots. My water also broke early when I had my son, but I was 34 weeks 4 days, hence the Pestosterone. He had to stay in for 1 week. He is a very healthy 7 month old now. I AM PRAYING FOR THE SAME WITH BABY GIRIL! Still need a name!
Can anyone relate to what I am going through? I am better now (emotionally/mentally) that I am being monitored in the hospital but I know I can go any time and I am frightened! I just want her to be ok. Even if I go to the whole 34th week, she could still have complications due to low water.
Anyone out there that can talk with me about this, I would be thrilled! Good or bad story. Just to know what happened and what was done for you, how you coped, etc....
