I just left my youngest daughter at college a month ago today. I have been really busy, but still find the days to be long, the tasks almost meaningless despite the need to do them.
I am finding the days are endlessly long despite a thousand things to do. I though I was a bright, well adjusted person. This has been the hardest day.
I felt sad when my other two daughters left as well, but I got over it taking care of the needs of the children still at home.
My husband seems as lost as I am, but we don't seem to help each other out of the this bewildering time of finding a different life.
Unless I plan things and drag my husband out of the house--we are both used to taking that youngest daughter "somewhere" after work hours--he doesn't want to leave the house.
Are there support groups for such a strange thing?
