How do you know it is because of your daughter? Maybe she had the same name chosen for her child and it has nothing to do with your daughter.
Heck my son does not have a common name and he has a boy in his class with the exact same name, Colby Michael. Even the boys last name starts with the same letter.
So it may just be a coincidence.

Be flattered....the other just gives you too much stress to carry around, and you can't change it. I had several acquaintances name their child Max very soon after my son was born. I decided it was a compliment, I chose a good name. :)

It isn't something I dwell on that is for sure lol but it was annoyed at first as her mother is my mother in-laws best friend. So I dont see her around all the time but we do live in the same small town and know the same group of people.. She didn't even want children then had this suprise pregnancy and named her the same as my daughter..

I think as long as its not someone in my everyday life I wouldnt give it a second thought, Could be it was a name she had her heart set on since she was a kid and it has nothing to do with your daughter at all. Or she did it to drive you crazy. either way its best to just let it go and go forward with life.

Flattered? It's not like she's your best friend or your sister. I do not think it is even close to anything to really concern yourself with. They won't be in the same class at school. It's not going to interfere with their lives. It might be fun if they meet one day when they are older to find someone with the same name. When I was a kid, I had a dental hygienist who had the same first, middle and last name as me. I thought it was really neat.
