My nearly 3 1/2 yr old DS is still not toilet trained and I am finding this to be my most difficult parenting challenge so far I just don't know where I'm going wrong and why it won't click with him. He will use the toilet when asked to and will squeeze out a wee just about every time, but he will absolutely not volunteer to use it himself. And...unless I remind him every hour to hour and a half he has accidents, I know accidents are par for the course but he just doesn't seem to be getting the idea of holding on at all. I would have thought by his age he should surely have more bladder control?! Am I expecting too much? My husband says you'll look back on this in a few years and laugh he'll train eventually. Will it be that simple? Is it likely that one day it WILL just click and until then should I just persevere with the reminding?
