Hi moms, in Michelle from South Africa. I'm 26 and a stay at home mom of a five year old and a 5 week old. I think I'm suffering from post part um depression. Since the birth of our baby girl 5 weeks ago I have never felt so alone. My first born son is from a previous relationship so this is basically my husband and I first child together . My husband tries to be helpful but he seldom holds the baby, he holds her only when I need to go to the bathroom or I need to make a bottle. He sleeps most of the time and I'm left to calm the baby and stay up late nights with her. We are at his parents home now since the birth of the baby and my mother in law gets to me like she says things like I need to give the baby cream of maize because she doesn't get full but she doesn't even finish a full bottle of milk. I haven't taken a bath in 3 days because everybody is always busy or gone. I have been in doors since the birth of the baby and it's all killing me. I'm constantly crying and just need a shoulder or a friend to talk to as I just have no one. Please help.

I’m sorry that you’re struggling, Michelle. (Hug) I would encourage you to see counseling with regard to what you’re experiencing. Many of my friends have sort to counseling and they’ve all found it very useful. In the meantime, you might want to read this article -- http://bit.ly/1Ta21C4. Will pray for you and your family. Sending love and peace your way, momma. Be strong.
