I need some advice. My twins are eight. When they were infants the biological father abused them by shaking them. One child has injuries that effect the quality of his life. I have sole custody of my twins. The father has never seemed remorseful or even paid child support but now wants to go to court to be able to see my kids. I am scared. My kids do not even know him.

Since its on his record, most likely he will be granted supervised visits. You need to prepare the kids by telling them that their dad is 'back'. You don't need to say where he's been, nor to bad mouth him, but they need to know that they may be meeting him, and going on visits with him.

And, you need to have your attorney address the support side of things, because it is a separate issue.

Hopefully a judge will use his brain and not allow him to see them unsupervised.
Unfortunately, he is their Father and a judge will want to establish some contact but like I said, get yourself a good lawyer and make sure he never gets them alone.

Was he charged with child abuse? You need to get yourself a good lawyer and make sure he isn't left alone with them. Even if you make sure it's supervised visits.
