My 4 yr old son has been potty trained for 3 months. The past few weeks he has started holding in his poop. It's not that it hurts him to go...He gets mad if you come near him to check his underwear..big sign that he has let some escape but is still trying to hold it in. I put him on the toilet and he just throws a fit and tells me he doesn't have to go. Is this another way for him to "control" something? It took him a long time to potty train him...we basically had to let him decide when "he" was ready...not mom and dad when we were ready for him to be potty trained. :) a Any help/suggestions would be helpful! I don't want you son to be a kindergarten next year and still be dealing with this!!!

Are you expecting? I've noticed my children regress with potty training each time a new baby is born. To help them out though I give them apple juice, apple sauce, and fiber gummies. Anything that will help that poop ease on out anyway, that way they can't hold it in or it feels EXTREMELY gross if they do go on themselves. It tends to help, he might just be under stress and it's making him constipated.
