My son is 3 and started throwing fits, tantrums and being very mean as soon as his 3rd b-day hit.

He will say NO MOM I DONT WANT TO, stick out his tounge and blow spit at me. All of a sudden this week he has been taking his hand putting it behind his back so he can't hold my hand in parking lots and then tries hitting me if I try and grab his hand. (he even runs out into the lot if I can't grab his hand in time) Its really embarassing that people even tell him "Don't treat your mother like that!" I am not with his dad anymore and every time he gets in trouble he wants his dad (who hasn't seen him since mid-march) and tells me I'm a whiney girl and leave him alone. He also told me he wants a new mom.

I know this is typical 3 year old stuff... but I have tried talking calmly, I have screamed, I have spanked, I am even put soap in his mouth. I feel like its all very dramatic but not a solution. I feel so bad at the end of the day and am soo sad that we put each other through this. But I am at my wits end, I am super stressed out about it everyday, it makes me very angry and I have been getting tension headaches. I have fibromyalgia and stress worsens my symptoms. I need some techniques others have used and have worked.

Please help me!!!

I know it all seems like simple 3 year old stuff but he knows perfectly well what he is doing, that its driving me nuts and he throws tantrums if I am talking to people, on the phone, anything. I give him a lot of attention or at least I think I do... we are together 24/7. He's just plain rude and mean sometimes. He even started biting (since he got bit last month by another kid), he bruised my step-daughters arm. He just seems so angry and other times he is sooo happy and I just smile and want to hold him forever. Let me add one thing.... he was napping every day until 2 months ago and now it is a fight to make him BUT he needs them or he passes out ay 5 pm and wakes up meaner than before. I just don't know what to do.
