My daughter just graduated from high school. She has always been needy and close to me. Her new found best friend has required more of her attention for her senior year. It has been painful to watch her push away from me and the family. For the first time she spouted ," I am 18, I am an adult leave me alone". That hurt more than anything I have ever felt before. I am trying so hard to let her be that adult. But, I am watching her fall. It is so hard to watch her fall and not pick up the pieces. :( Any encouraging advice from anyone? It has to get easier to let go right??

Thank you. I am trying to find something I am interested in to start as a hobby. :)

It does get easier. It also helps if you have something to redirect your attention to (a hobby or something).

She'll do fine, Katrina, because you've raised her, and she is ready to move out on her own.
