Hello everyone! I am brand new to this, so I hope I am doing everything correctly. I am really excited that I found somewhere to talk/ask questions to other moms! I am a single mother, so it is just my son and I who live in our house. His father is somewhat involved, when he decides to be a dad. Anyway, I did the potty training, pretty much by myself. My mom helped some, but she lives in a different state, so isn't around as much as we would like. We went for the "sit down approach. It worked great, and he has been going to the potty by himself for quite a while. However, I am having a bit of a hard time getting him to remember to stand up to pee. I guess I never really thought that I would have an issue getting him to swap over to standing, nor planned to do this without his father's help. He is starting school in a couple of weeks, and I have been trying to remind him to stand. It is difficult to do so every time, since he goes without telling me most of the time. I think he gets in a hurry and it is just habit for him to sit down. He hasn't had a male figure to learn from, and I am worried that he will never get used to standing up. Does anyone have any advice on what I can do to help him transition? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
