I never set schedules for my kids. They usually fell into a schedule on their own. And I agree with Jodi. 7 weeks is still too young for CIO.

I can understand . I had a tough time with maintainig schedule too . 1 weekend would mess it all up . . Lol. My daughter started sleeping well at around 3 months . So we were on a better schedule then . Make sure u eat well and try n rest with u baby as in as and when ur child sleeps try to tk a nap even though it is tempting to finish up pending chores . If u and baby are doing great then just enjoy the baby . Take care

Your 7 week old is WAY too young for any CIO method. Even the advocates of CIO agree that under 6 months is too young. Babies are supposed to wake up at night. Forcing them not to is going against nature.

hey hi , i dont like the cio method either . But there are lot of people who prefer that their child starts soothing and sleeping on its own. To each . . His own . But i personally feel its too early for cio . Babies have gas problems , teething pain, and so much more going on besides breast milk is digested in less than 2 hrs . . So its natural for ur little one to wake up at night . Yes setting schedule is imp though . My little one is now 10 montha old . U have to be very consistent with schedules . Initially We used to put her down for naps whenever she was tired and cranky . My baby had colic so little one was in lot of pain . After about 3 months we swiched to more consistant nap timings . She still wakes up 2 times at night and my doc says its ok . I co sleep so usually nursing her back to slleep works well for me . Try n keep the bed n bath times consistant . Do check out Dr Sears website . I like their approach . Its very gentle . You may get a lot of opinions for cio n against it too . I personally feel a schedule that works for u is the best schedule . Ur baby is just 7 weeks old .. So may need comfort feeding . I hope this helps u . May god bless u and ur little one always .

Thank u!! Yes when I heard about the CIO, I thought are you kidding me? I Dont have any other kids, so idk about anything, but I thought, there is no way I can do that! Everyone tells me I need to, but I Dont want to. And this is after all needs are met-feeding,changing, burped, addressing any issue. Just really having a hard time with a schedule because I'm not sure I am on one myself. She loves to be with Me and near me and so do I:) she isn't in her crib yet she sleeps in my room with me:) and I do not let her cry!!! Just didn't know if I needed to, and thank you for reinforcing what I thought was right:)
