I have a 9 week old baby girl, Dakotah, she has been having some issues gaining weight. She weights only 9lb 2 oz at 9 weeks old. She is barely in the 10% for her age. I am exclusivley pumping and feeding her with the Haberman bottle and she does really well with that. I went to her 2 month check up on Tuesday and the pediatrician recommended us to try Human Milk Fortifier, this adds extra calaries to the brest milk and allows her to not have to supplement with formula, which we are really trying to avoid if possible but if it comes down to it I will. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a baby with cleft palate and chromosome disorders who also have had weight issues? I asked the pediatrician and he doesn't think that the chromosome abnormalities should really be affecting her weight like it is. She is eating well she is eating 3 to 4 oz every 2 to 3 hours. Can she just be a small baby? I have an almost 4 year old who only weights 32 lbs, but she always gained weight like she was supposed to when she was a baby, but she also didn't have anything wrong with her. So advice is welcome!!!

She is doing great over all so far she is a happy normal 2 month old even with all her medical issues. So as of right now all anyone is worried about is her weight but we started the Human Milk Fortifier today and that adds 2 extra calories ber ounce of breast milk. We go back on the 24th for them to re evaluate her weight again. We go to the Dr. Pretty frequent to watch her weight and to keep check to make sure she is developing like she should due to her chromosome abmormality bc one of the abnormalities are rare and they don't know what to exspect with it.

From what I've read the opposite should be happening. She should be gaining excessive weight. My daughter was in the 10th percentile, she was just small. As long as her diapers are wet and she seems healthy and active I wouldn't worry.
