Hello ladies, I am 24 years old. not a mother yet but want to become a mother. ive been trying for several years (5 years) and nothing. Found this website and was wondering if I can get advice from someone. I don't get a period regularly. Ive skipped a year already. got diagnosed with a slight of pcos. doctor tried clomid for a month that didn't help. Recently went to doctor and was put on low dosage birth control for 3 months to get period and start process. is this gonna help me? any advice.

Valerie, Mary is right you need to go see a fertility specialist. Five years of efforts to to conceive is too long to go without intervention. There may be a very simple answer. So get started!

Hi Valerie,
I have to say, I think a good OB/GYN would know best. It sounds like with the pcos and not getting your period regularly you might need some professional help making sure everything is doing what it should. I don't know if you already got all this information, but you need to know what having slight pcos means in regards to conceiving, carrying a child and giving birth. You need to know why you are not getting a regular period. You need to know if you ovulate as well. You should have (if you haven't already) have a good straight talk with you OB/GYN about having children and let them help you.

Mary - ive been to specialist and they have tried clomid and nothing, I think my main problem is that I don't get a period. they have checked if I have my tubes blocked and I have gotten ultrasounds and they say everything looks good!!!! its what scares me. ii honestly think my main problem is not getting my period!! they recently put me on low dosage birth control for 3 months and they said then they can help me out again but they do want me to get a period first. I got my period early on the pill, I was supposed to start next Wednesday but I started yesterday. so idk if that's good or bad. then I found this tea on line named fertili-tea. gonna try it as well .......wish me luck!!!!
