Valeria--I agreed with your post but unfortunately your statement that I have quoted below can not work for custody and child support;

{ First, make a document with all your requests as far as visitation rights and also financially what you want to pay for the child's expenses. Have her read it and tell her you are willing to settle things with out going to court. If she agrees to sign take it to notary public and have that document notarized.}

The documents done with a notary are not considered legal documents and won't stand up in court unless signed off by a judge.

Document all of your attempts at contact and her responses... and go to court. Getting a court order is the ONLY way to protect all of you. Unless she has any solid evidence of abuse or drug use (like police reports) you WILL get visitations at least.

I'm sorry it's so hard right now, but hang in there and document everything.

if you are on the birth certificate you have as many rights as her. First, make a document with all your requests as far as visitation rights and also financially what you want to pay for the child's expenses. Have her read it and tell her you are willing to settle things with out going to court. If she agrees to sign take it to notary public and have that document notarized. If she does not want to sign then you have to date it and unfortunately you have to go directly to court and file for joint custody, unless you are a horrible person with a horrible background than they will most likely give you the joint custody, child support is separate also. you have to note down every time she declines the visits every phone call she declines so the court sees that you have been making an effort to see your child. Also open a bank account that you can offer the mother to use for baby expenses, put money in there exclusively for the baby, if the mom decides she doesn't need it you have that also as proof that you want to cooperate.
