Pradnya I would start now.....just give her a sippy cup with some water in it and let her play with it. At first she will just play and then after awhile she will figure out how to drink from it. You can also help her a little bit by putting it up to her mouth and holding it sometimes. Big thing is just to introduce her to it and let her explore it. I always let them play with it at meal times....this also helped allow me a bit of time to eat my food also. :) Get the sippys with the soft (silicone) spouts. Those are easier for new beginners. Then I went to the rubber type ones as they became better at drinking from the sippy and then eventually went to the hard ones.

Softer sippy cups help a lot! If you are already doing this. It might take time. The milk bottle to sippy with milk is the hardest transition for them. Dont be discouraged and in no time she wont want the bottle anymore!!!

Sometimes it just takes time for them to transition. What I would do is only offer the sippy throughout the day....so no bottles during the day. Then for awhile go with just milk in the sippy. If you know she can drink from the sippy then it is just a matter of her choosing to do so. So to help her to choose milk only give that offer to her until she starts to get better at choosing it. Then you can add back in water and juice. Also know that after the age of 1 yrs their milk intake should go down as now their nutrition comes more from the food they eat then their milk. So their milk intake should be around 12 ounces a day.....some days you may get a little more and others a little less. Instead of looking at how much she drinks daily try looking at it over a weeks time....same goes with food. Toddlers will hardly eat one day and then eat tons the next or eat all fruits one day and then the next it is all veggies. Same goes with milk. Some days they may hardly drink anything and the next you wonder how they can hold that much.
