At 8 months my daughter was getting solids 3 times a day and breastfeeding 2 times (they were about 45- 1 hr feedings though). She also got water with each meal, she drank about 6 oz a day.

At 8 months old my daughter was only getting solids 2 or 3 times a day. Solids before one are just for fun so there primary nutritien is still coming from breastmilk or formula. I always breastfed 30 minutes before offering solids to my daughter. If I was home with my daughter she was bf'ing 6-7 times in a 24 hour period. We also started giving her sippy cups of water about that time too. You don't say why you're concerned that your LO isn't bf'ing enough so I'm going to assume your concerned about weight. My daughter from 8 months to a year only gained a little over a lb and a half, we actually had a sick visit where she lost some weight not much like 2 ounces but still lost. Remember that your lo's growth slows signifigantly once they become mobile.
