My 14 month old grandson is waking up at night screaming and throwing a fit and stiffing his whole body up.He acts like he doesn't know whats going on.It takes us a while to get him calmed down, afterwards he all smiles back to normal.I'm very worried about him doing that, not sure whats going on..Is anyone going or been threw it before?I need help please!!

It could be night terrors my daughter used to have them,
they look like their looking right threw you, like a massive fit of rage, thrashing around regardless of what's there.
There nothing you can do for them, you shouldn't wake them only watch they don't hurt themselves, they don't remember anything which explains the smiling afterwards and apparently called "terror" as what the parents / grandparents are put through.
We tranfered my daughter from a cot to a travel cot so she didn't hurt her self on the bars and we found singing brought her round quicker and calmed us a bit too as it's so horrible sitting doing nothing. She's 4 now and grew out of them.

Yes it is very horrible to watch! He falls asleep in our bed then I move him to his crib which right next to ours.He has done this 3 times in the past couple of months.

Did you make him sleep somewhere and then you put him back in his bed? Because he might also be waking up not knowing where he is (common when the baby falls sleep in your arms and then you move him).
