Hello,
I am pregnant with my second child due in Jan. I don't know the sex yet, but I have a girl and boy name picked out...I just can't come up with a good middle name for the girl name, which is Temple. I don't want it to sound too hippie-ish (like Temple Rain) and I don't want your typical everyday middle names (like Ann, May, Rose, Lynn, etc). Preferably one syllable...but I'm open to more. Please help!

I know you said you were looking for a single syllable middle name. I haven't seen June, Jane, Claire, Paige or Eve suggested yet. I think that Temple sounds better with a longer middle though - like Caroline, Elizabeth, Amelia, etc. Although really, what matters is how the name you use daily sounds with your last name.

The name that popped into my head when I saw it was Renee -------- for some reason Temple Renee sounds "right" to me! LOL

Honestly? When I hear the word Temple, I think of church.
Sometimes, in a search for a unique name, parents can go overboard...

Hey! What did you end up naming your baby? I'm due with a girl in August and Temple is our top name! Haven't decided on a middle name yet.... Maybe Temple Isobel. Bummed though because of course all our family members think it is strange. We think it is beautiful though!

I like Emilia's suggestion of the Italian names too. My daughters's names are all Italian (my heritage). Gia is one of their "short names" - Giovanna is her full name. I think it's a pretty name that isn't heard of often where I live.

Guess I'm partial because I chose this middle name for my daughter.......but how about Temple Aleese? I fell in love w/the name Aleese but my husband wouldn't buy it for a first name, so I have an Ana Aleese :)

What about Temple Adele, Aria, or Gia, Temple Amaria or Giana? All Italian names. Hope I helped

Rynn? Pronounced like the ending to Karen or rhymes with Lynn. Temple Rynn Giombetti! I like that it has double letters like your first name too;)

I am also pregnant with my second child due in January! My names are Aiden Robert or Savanna not sure of the middle name yet. Honestly I like Temple Lynn but you said you don't want that. It's kind of a tough one...
Temple Joan
Temple Ray
Temple June
Temple Jean

I like that Renee was suggested earlier.

As someone who has an "old" family name, be sure you are able to explain your reasons for choosing her name when Temple is not able able to find her name on a nick nack at a vacation spot. I have one thing which has my name on it and that was a special order item from my parent's. My brother on the other hand could find whatever he wanted with his common family name.

I'm starting to be fond of Temple Genesis. Especially with it being the first month of the year. Hubby has to agree though, which doesn't happen often.

I agree that Grace is very common and i tried to stay away from it. I actually refer to it as a "filler" middle name, but I can't help from thinking that it sounds nice and it actually does have some meaning to me because the church I attend is called Grace bible. So I don't know if I'll use it but I might

Grace is a pretty common first and middle name right now. I think that Lynn, Ann and Marie were popular middle names a generation ago and now it's a lot of names like Rae and Grace for middle names.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, ladies! I still haven't made up my mind so keep the wheels turning! I'll take all the ideas I can get. It will be funny if after all this I find out its a boy anyway! We'll see ;) So far my favorites are Temple Grace and Temple Ellen

I like the name Temple Bless I don't know your last name, but when I think of a Temple I think of blessings and since a child is one of the most beautiful blessings why not Bless. Just a thought.

I do like the way you're thinking...it would be a good idea, but my full name is Abby, not Abigail. So it's a no go :(

Wondering since you are listed as Abby if your full name is Abigail?? Maybe Temple Gail would work and you'd be keeping it in the family!! Just a thought!!
