My son is 3 months and 1 week old and currently i'm wrapping him to go to sleep at night. The problem im having now is that we are currently experiencing 38 degree heat and at night we are having to keep the air con on and it can get a bit cold.
I'm dressing him in a thin cotton jumpsuit with no legs but with sleeves as when i wrap him i have to leave 1 arm out of the wrap or he will wriggle right out of the wrap completely and start waving his arms around and waking himself up. I then put him inside a thin cotton sleeping bag. (i'm wrapping him once the sleeping bag is on first)
I think he may be getting too hot with then me wrapping him also, and i'm up and down all night adjusting him as he is constantly fussing all night!!!! so i'm not getting much sleep
My question is this, I have a thin cotton sleeping bag with longer sleeves would it be okay to put that on him with just a nappy underneath but only 1 arm in one sleeve and the other arm that is normally in the wrap leave inside the sleeping bag so he doesnt wake himself up with both arms flying everywhere!?!? i'm just not sure whether this would be safe, i figure it would be the same as being wrapped but this way he wont be too hot.
Just so you know i put him in a short sleeve jumpsuit last night and wrapped him and his little arm was freezing all night and he fussed constantly, he fusses less when his arms are covered.
