I am reading healthy sleep happy baby and my husband and I agreed that after our routine we put our baby down and let him learn to sleep, he is almost 5 months. He sometimes has an upset stomach and I can usually tell from his cry if he needs to be burped but otherwise it seems he just wants our company so we let him cry which lately has been for an hour +. It is so hard to listen to him cry but I am sleep deprived and I know to be a good mom I need sleep and to be a happy baby he needs sleep! Any thoughts on how to get through this....

I know this is hard for you. I went thru this too ! I would actually cry with wanting to run to my princess and scoop her up and snuggle. But, I am SO GLAD I DID NOT. It only took my daughter about 10 days, then, to my surprise, after we had our night-time routine- bath, massage, snuggle, last breast feed and a book, she would actually lean toward her crib, hunker down, and go to sleep. Such a relief. She was about 5 1/2 months at the time ! She actually really liked her crib after that. But, in the am I got her within 3-5 minutes of her waking up too. Good luck ! I slept like a rock star from that point on !

Thanks he finally fell asleep at the being of the week after only two minutes of crying I couldn't believe it! It's also encouraging to hear he probably won't have an aversion to bed because of crying! It is such a relief that he's falling asleep now daddy does the bed time routine after I BFand the LO is a lot less tired and more independent during the day. thanks Tracey =)
