How about a picnic? My husband & I love going to the supermarket & getting cheeses and fruit & crackers that we cant usually justify the cost of. We usually just stay in the back yard, but you could go out to the beach or a nice park. The best present my husband got me (which was my idea, but he agreed to do it) was a "no complaints" list for me to use through out the year. So I had up to 10 things he would do without complaining or arguing & he had to pretend to enjoy them i.e. go to the ballet with me, go out for a drive in the country for no reason or watch a movie that I knew he'd hate & he had to pretend he was enjoying it. It was a great gift!

Thank you everyone for the advice, I think I will try some of them. I just wish I could get rid of my brother in law for the night. My daughter is staying at my moms for the weekend. I will post after Sunday and let everyone know how it turned out.

I really like Denise's answer...I had my own answer (a PG version of what Denise said) LOL!
Your anniversary is a celebration about the two of YOU! It doesn't have to involve the whole family...the neighbors, or the inlaws. I like the candles...whipped cream, chocolate sauce...bubble bath...and end it with whatever "treat" he loves (or begs for) most. ;-)
Maybe look around the internet for some free samples of lube...they will come in the mail free, and totally suggest what you are 'up to'.
Here are some sexy 'coupons' your Boo can trade in for favors...or make your own more xrated ones. (with the second link) ;-)

If you aren't DEAD broke...check Groupon.com for any restaurants giving a discount. There was a great Groupon coupon last week for a really nice restaurant in our hometown that made a nice $80.00 dinner for two cost us exactly $32.78....Check Groupon.com for a dinner discount.
If you guys live anywhere near the beach...maybe act like teenagers and go get caught making out in the car at the beach? Drive in movie theater? Is there an old 'make-out spot' from yall's younger days? My husband I used to have our old teenage days makeout spot...until they built a subdivision. (a lot happens in 20 years! lol)
Okay...let me brainstorm OUTSIDE the bedroom.
Does he love his car? Would he let you detail his car for him? That's free...it only costs elbow grease. Anything else he just loves that you could spruce up for him? Does he have a computer room? Maybe it needs a cheap re-decorate? I am famous for moving things around my home so they are pretty in a NEW place...it makes people notice them again...maybe do the bedroom over with a romantic 'mood'?
Maybe he has a thrill that you can't stand? Does he love to go racing? Golf? any of that boring stuff? Smile and go along...shoot pool, slop up some golf shots and get drunk on the green...Take your ear buds to the racetrack and PRETEND you are having a blast?

Katey congrates on your anni. This might sound alittle cheesy but I would pack a picnic, complete with a bottle of wine and go to either the beach or near by lake or bush walk, depends what you like and just spend some quality time together. You could make the picnic as simple or fancy as you like from some fav sandwiches and fruit to something fancy. Make him a card, maybe on the computer. There are sights that will help you with your poem inside so you say exactly what you want so he knows how important he is to you. I know guy arnt really into picnics but that can be his gift to you. Spending some quality time alone together on your anniversary is what is important and Im sure he will appreciate the effort you have gone to to make is a special day in the end.

Hi Katey, What does he like to do? Does he like golf? Go with him to play a round of golf and cheer him on. Pack a nice lunch for after and go to a nice secluded park. After doing something that he enjoys he will probably be less negative about the picnic experience. This sets the mood for the rest of the night? Hope this helps? Happy Anniversary!

Hey Katey, I would have my bro n law go somewhere else for a few hours or the night, then get a bunch of candles, eatable undies and body paint, rose petals sticky notes and a slammin neglijae(cant spell that) but u know what i mean. cook something special for him maybe some seafood if hes not allergic, nice finger food dessert that u could possibley make a mess so u could like it off lol put on some sexual music and dance for him, all the way to the brm. with the sticky notes give him sexual directions on what you want him to do next remember to place them in places with pointing arrows that he will see when he comes in. and rock his world after that. give him a slooooowww lap dance, run a tub of water or get in the shower, when you get out place him in a chair blind folded and tied up so he cant touch or see whats next lol he'll love it, then go for what u know.lol i hope it works,ps dont forget the whip cream

@Sophie, I suggested a picnic and he said it was cheesy. :( If I did something like that knowing my husband he would still complain about doing it. I even suggested going to the lakefront in our city at sunset but he just laughed. So most likely we are staying home and spending it with my brother in law, (living with us, but I'm the only one that wants him out)
