My son is three weeks old and we found out he was intolerant to the milk based formula early on due to him having several poops in a matter of 12 hours and he was also having obvious discomfort. His pediatrician suggested we switch to prosobee formula (soy based) and he does well with it but the switch caused him to be constipated and uncomfortable. His pediatrician then suggested we give him diluted prune juice every day to help regulate him and it appears to be working (softening his poops) but he still screams every time he's gassy or when he's pooping. We are trying gripe water and simethicone drops but he still seems to be struggling and up all night. I know I can't take away his body's functions but I would just like to be able to comfort him more. Any suggestions for some comfort measures for him??
