hello I am 13 wks and 1 day pregnant with # 4. my 2nd pregnancy we lost our little boy at 23 wks to unknown cause, I did have a healthy baby boy in 2010 but i cant help to be nervous this time around as well. Is it true that once dr finds a good hb past 8 wks that the chance of losing the baby goes down? I do have a doppler and hb is at 165 so i guess I just need reasurance that everything is how it should be so far even though i am not feeling baby yet.

You probably won't feel the baby for a few more weeks but I do think that once the doctor finds a good heartbeat the chances do go down for a miscarriage. I hope the best for you! Just make sure that you are getting plenty of rest.

I've always heard that once you hear the heartbeat the chance of loss goes down. Not sure how TRUE that is and it's, of course, not a guarantee, but it's the hope I held onto in my last pregnancy after two miscarriages (my son is now almost 5).
