My baby is going on 9 months and now that he is crawling and trying to stand I have found myself mentally and emotionally drained. I am down about what little time I have to do anything ;cook, clean, rest shower. I can't find time to do anything for myself like have a long enough time in the shower to wash my hair it is completely overwhelming. Is this a normal feeling for first time parents, does it pass soon?

Hi Vicky,
I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. My 2 year old did not walk until he was 16 months old due to some issues. I had been waiting for this moment because I was filled with worry about it. Now, he's a bouncy, active, toddler who climbs everywhere. I may have not showered in 2 days...and I still find it normal. I just keep reminding myself that I had been waiting for him to be this active for such a long time. Lol. Kidding aside, it can get overwhelming, especially if you want everything to be like it was before your baby came...shower, a clean house, quiet time, cooking time, etc. Take it easy. It will be hard but your child is all worth it. I've had stressful moments trying to make everything right at the beginning...but I have learned to let go. You will get there, too. Hang in there!
