I have a 5 month old daughter and breastfeeding as well! It's been working out great so far! :-)
In order to increase milk production, the best foods that have worked for me which i make sure I consistently eat daily are the following:
1)Oatmeal with fresh fruits and a sprinkle of flax seeds for breakfast.
2)A smoothie (various fruits) with brewers yeast, flax and chia seeds for a morning snack. They say that brewers yeast found in beer helps with milk production. You can try non-alcoholic beer also!
3) Different types of vegetable soups with a sandwhich (protein) for lunch.
4) kashi granola bars (various) for an afternoon snack with a fruit.
5) a healthy protein meal with vegetables or salad for supper.
Also make sure that you are very relaxed while breastfeeding as it helps with let down!
