I am newly a SAHM with a 9-month old daughter. I really love it, and I have always wanted this opportunity, but I have to admit that I am a little lonely. I have gone through a lot of life changes recently. I had my first baby (obviously, lol). I was an elementary teacher, and this upcoming school year will be the first time I have not had a classroom. It feels really strange. Also, I recently moved to a small town in a rural area. I don't know very many people and my husband works long hours. Any ideas on ways to transition to this new way of life?? Thanks!

STEP INTO THE PUBLIC AND GET TO KNOW YOUR COMMUNITY. IN A SMALL TOWN IT IS HARDER TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS. THEY TEND TO BE VERY SKEPTICAL OF NEW COMERS. DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY, ITS JUST A SMALL TOWN THING.
GO TO CHURCH
VOLUNTEER
JOIN A GROUP/CLUB/GYM..ANYTHING U CAN JOIN
GO TO PUBLIC EVENTS LIKE FOOTBALL GAMES/FAIRS/RODEOS/ANYTHING PUBLIC
TALK TO PEOPLE AT THE DOCTOR OFFICE (OR WHEREVER U HAPPEN TO GET A CHANCE TO B IN PUBLIC) WHEN THE LITTLE ONE HAS CHECK UP AND EXPRESS HOW HARD IT HAS BEEN TO MEET NEW PEOPLE AND HOW BORED YOU ARE.
