Several of you have posted about being new to Utah, and non-LDS. My entire family just moved to Utah from Memphis, TN. I have a granddaughter who will start kindergarten in the fall, and 3 grandchildren in upper elementary. My older daughter joined the Mormon church for the sole reason that she didn't want her children ostracized. Even though they never attend church, they have for the most part been well-received in their town. Right now my husband and I rent in West Point, but have just signed a contract on a house in North Ogden. Our neighbors in WP are cordial, but no one has made an effort to meet us. I'm not sure what to expect in North Ogden. Fortunately I won't have to directly worry about young children being accepted, since it will just be my husband and myself moving. We are 60.
Older daughter lives in Thatcher; younger daughter will be renting near East Layton Elementary. Our grown son will live with us for a while, but he can worry on his own about making friends!
Any input about North Ogden? I will join a quilt and would like to feel part of the group.
